Narrative Report on Earthquake and Fire Drill

In line with the campaign to be safe of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Council or NDRRMC empowered by the Department of Education in setting the
mind of school children on what to do in case of a natural disaster like earthquake. Cadena de
Amor Elementary School conducted an earthquake drill at exactly 9:00 o’clock in the morning,
February 23, 2023. There are 3 teachers and 45 pupils executed the said drill. The drill was
carried out simultaneously and smoothly. All grade levels occupied the designated areas for
them, based on the school evacuation plan.

Before the conduct, the School DRRM Coordinator instructed all the pupils and
teachers of what to do in case of fire occurs and performed on how to hold, cover and duck.
After that, one pupil rungs the bell in 1 minute to signal the pupils to go outside and motivates
everyone to be alert and awake. They were grouped according to their respective grade levels. In
addition, all the advisers counted their students to make sure that they are safe. The pupils placed
a book or bags to cover their heads until they are safe and move to the assigned evacuation area
far from the buildings to keep away from falling debris that can injure them. The teachers were
the last to go out from their classroom ensuring that no one is left inside.
