NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

1st QUARTER

Pursuant to the Memorandum No. 21, s.2022 titled Conduct of the CY2022 Quarterly
Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill issued from National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Council and the Department of Education that all Schools will conduct an
earthquake drill on March 10, 2022, thus, the Patin-ay National High School , teaching and non-
teaching staff participated the drill with the help of the Provincial Bureau of Fire Protection of the
Province of Agusan del Sur, headed by the Provincial Fire Marshall Superintendent Peter Monatus,
Provincial responders and from the SARAS, Provincial DRRM and MDRRM offices.

It was started at 9 o’clock in the morning in the School’s Cultural hall with a short program,
hosted by Mrs. Dianne Chua and orientation about the activity. The school principal, Mr.
Necesario F. Tulod welcomed the visitors and the participants both teaching and non- teaching
personnel of the school. It was followed by the demonstration of the basics on how to do the
DUCK, COVER and HOLD during an earthquake. After 10 minutes of the information given by the
facilitators, the participants performed the drill following also the health protocols mandated from
the Department of Health.

Furthermore, the drill continued outside the hall, in which the fire trucks, rescue vehicles
and other responders assembled in the evacuation area.

Lastly, the conduct of the NSED was successfully done at 10 o’clock in the morning.
