NARRATIVE REPORT
4th QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL
In reference to the OUOPS Memorandum No. 2023-04-1668 regarding the schedule of the
CY 2023 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), and Memorandum No. 225,
S. 2023 Memorandum by the Schools Division Office of San Pedro City. Learners and Personnel of
San Vicente Elementary School Participated in the conduct of 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous
Earthquake Drill.

activity is in line with the
campaign of
the Department of Education
(DepEd) to equip the school,
teachers and students with the
knowledge,

and skills on what to do in case of

natural and man-made disaster
like earthquake that will strike
our
area.
The School DRMM coordinator
together with the faculty and staff
led the activity. The drill was
carried out smoothly. All grade
levels occupied the designated
areas, based on the school
evacuation
plan.
Before the conduct of the
earthquake drill, the School

teachers and staff that after the
bell rings, everybody must
perform the activity such as to
duck, to
hold and to cover. When the
leader had secured already the
area to be safe for the students
and
teachers, they went out from their
classroom and went directly to
the assigned areas in front of
stage.
They covered their heads while
walking safely. Then the adviser

did a head count to make sure

that
all students were complete.
The activity was successfully
done through the collaborative
efforts of Rufino Aguilar
Memorial
High School teachers and staff
headed by the School Head and
DRMM Coordinator.
San Vicente Elementary School faculty and Staff conducted the 4th National Simultaneously
Earthquake Drill (NSED) last November 09, 2023. This activity is in line with the campaign of
Department Education (DepEd) to equip the school, teachers and students with the knowledge and
skills on what to do in case of natural and man-made disaster like earthquake that will strike in our
area.
The school DRRM coordinator together with the faculty and staff led the activity. The drill
was carried smoothly. The kindergarten occupied the designated area based on the school evacuation
plan.
Before the conduct of earthquake drill, The School DRRM coordinator instructed all the
teachers and staff that after the bell rings, everybody must perform the activity such as to duck, to
cover and to hold. When the leader had secured already the area to be safe for the students and
teachers, they went out from their classroom and went directly to their assigned holding areas on the
school ground. The adviser made a headcount to secure to make that all students were complete.

Due to Intramurals Celebrations the learner’s conducted evacuation drill in our holding area.
The evacuation drill was not performed because learners play in different venues for each event and to
prevent stampede commotion. The rest of the learners performed the duck cover and hold.

GAPS AND CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED IN THE CONDUCT OF THE DRILL

1. Due to Intramurals celebration, we couldn’t perform the evacuation drill to prevent stampede
because the learners play in different venues for each event.
2. Because of the excitement of getting back to the game, the children couldn’t help but run even
after reminding them.
ACTION TAKEN TO MITIGATE
1. We let them stay in our holding area inside the school until the drill is over.
2. We let the learners understood what might happen if they ran `in the event of an earthquake.
