Part 2: Cue Card (4 points – 4 minutes)

Describe a TV program that you watched but did not like.

You should say:
What program it was.
When you saw it.
What it was about.
And explain why you did not like it.
I was never a big fan of TV. Even in my childhood, I used to watch just one or two
cartoon serials along with Cartoon network. Now with high-speed internet in our
palms, the TV viewing time has gone down to 1-2 hrs per week
One time I watched a TV show I realized that I didn't like the Hidden Voices –
broadcast at 7:30 pm every Saturday on HTV7. This is a music show with humorous
elements.
Each broadcast episode includes 7 mysterious voices and 2 teams playing. There will
be people who sing well and sing badly. The guests will have to choose a good singer
and duet with them. Throughout the show, there are many humorous situations. Not
always teams choose the right one.
And the reason I don't like this show is because there are times when I think, this is
not a contest or a comedy.

Part 3: Discussion (3 points – 3 minutes)

1. Do you think TV celebrities are good role models for children?

Yes, I think TV should play a role in broadening children’s horizons. Children have a
lot of free time so they will inevitably spend some of it watching TV. The role might
be tiny, but it’s still a role. Parents can make TV into a tool that helps their kids by
restricting children’s daily watching habits to informative channels, besides the made-
for-kids ones.
2. What are qualities of a good TV program?

3. Should children be allowed to watch TV?
