Lumusad Subject: Tour 203: Agri-Tourism

Section: A (2:00-3:00 pm) Teacher: Madam Janice Sojor

GROUP NAME: PECHAY CLEAN, PECHAY FRESH

PLANT ASSIGNED: Pechay and Sibuyas dahon.

Management Practices:

• Watering the plants using a sprinkler so it gets the adequate amount of water
• I have now placed them on our porch to avoid uncontrollable variables such as weather, and
also making sure the plants get enough sunlight, and not situated in a place where it’s too hot.
• Checking up on the plants every morning and afternoon.

Day 6:

Day 6 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- No visible changes have been spotted yet from the newly planted seeds.
- The surviving pechay plant I replanted on the pot Is still alive I will keep on monitoring it and
make sure it survives.
- It rained today so I didn’t have to water the plants.
Day 7:

Day 7 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- Still no visible changes have been spotted yet from the newly planted seeds.
- The pechay I’ve replanted is still thriving, I will continue to look over it.
- I have heard from the new that the reason why it was raining always is due to a typhoon so I hid
the pots a little bit under the tree so it wouldn’t get poured on too much from the rainfall.

Day 8:

Day 8 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- The pechay from both the pot and plot has started to sprout, yet no signs of growth from the
sibuyas dahon at all, even from the first batch. I might be doing this wrong and I will research
about it.
- I checked the replanted pechay plant and it was filled with water despite being under cover
water might have splashed over it due to the strong rain yesterday and caused the plant to
visibly be affected by the amount of water in it.
- I plant to relocate my potted plants to a safer environment maybe on our porch garden the ones
on the plot I will continue to monitor. I also asked my parents to help me find some water
bottles or 1.5-liter coke bottles so that I may plant the remaining seeds I have and also replant
the ones growing in the pot so it won’t overcrowd.
Day 9:

Day 9 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

-As the rains poured on strongly yesterday, when I checked on my pechay plants on the plot in the
morning it was all gone, probably buried by dirt due to strong downpour or ravaged by chickens roaming
throughout the garden, no matter the reason it is all gone now, and I have decided to plant newer
batches but on pots and recycled bottles inside a safer and more controlled environment, on our porch.

- for the surviving pechay plants I decided to put on our porch yesterday the first batch isn’t looking to
well and is starting to wither, so I’m guessing this is going to die anytime soon but on the other hand the
2nd batch of pechay is thriving, its leaves are green and is growing to a considerable length.

- I decided that for the rest of the batches of plants I will be planning them on our porch because it is
safer and the environment is more controlled unlike the garden outside our house, and as I planted the
newer batches in pots and recycled water bottles and then watered them slightly. I plan on obtaining
more recycled bottles so that I may be able to plant more.
Day 10:

Day 10 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- There are still no signs of growth from the newly planted seeds, while the older 2 nd batch of
pechay is doing fine, its leaves are green and they are varying in length about 1 and half or 2
inches atleast, which is about 3-5 in centimeters. While the only surviving first batch of pechay
that I replanted in the pot is not looking too well, but despite its current condition it still
continues to grow up until now so ill keep on watering and monitoring it too see how far it can
go.
- I watered the plants as usual.

Day 11:

Day 11 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- The newly planted pechay seeds has started to sprout and I think I actually see some growth from the
sibuyas dahon I planted in the lone black pot; I’ll continue to watch over it to see if it actually grows
because out of the other attempts of planting sibuyas dahon on the plot this is the only progress I’ve
made with this seed so I have high hopes this time.

- The previous batches still look the same I’ll keep my eye on them to see their progress.

- I watered the plants.

Day 12:

Day 12 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- The new batches of pechay are showing a lot of growth in a span of a day the leaves are visibly bigger
and brighter than yesterday and I’m hoping for the best for this batch because the previous ones have
been either a failure from my part or destroyed due to uncontrolled events.

- The sibuyas dahoon on the other hand, while being slower in growth I can still see it starting to grow
from the hints of dark green popping out the soil, I’ll continue to monitor this one because it’s the
farthest I’ve been with this seedling.

- I watered the plants.

Day 13:

Day 13 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- While the new pechay plants has been growing quite well these past 4 days, I can’t say the same for
the first batch I replanted, it’s starting to lose its strength on its stalk so I’m not expecting it to live up
until the harvesting point but I wont pluck it out just to see how far It’ll live. While the 2nd batch of
pechay seems to be growing just as well as the newer batches so ill keep watch on both of them.

- The sibuyas dahoon is starting to sprout which is dark green of color which looks really interesting.

- I watered the plants.

Day 14:

Day 14 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- Visible growth from both batches of pechay, leaves are growing bigger and fuller, there is some type of
plant within the pot of the 1st batch that I’m not actually familiar with it doesn’t look like a pechay and I
have noticed it for a while now but I’m quite hesitant to pull it out I just might want to see it grow bigger
or ask my parents about it, talking about the first batch its still growing but its stalk is visibly broken so I
actually surprised its still alive so I’ll keep on monitoring it.

- I’m really excited seeing the growth of the sibuyas dahon to see it actually growing after my few failed
attempts to grow it on the plot makes me happy, now it’s actually sprouting out the ground now.

- I watered the plants.

Day 15:

Day 15 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- The pechay plants are growing wonderfully, they are visibly growing towards the sunlight to apparent
from its slight tilt towards the direction of the sunlight which is really fascinating to see.

- The sibuyas dahon is also growing in length, about an 3cm or more. What surprised me the most is its
appearance, I didn’t expect it to look like that, it kinda looks like one of those illustrations of the bean
stalk from Jack and the bean stalk, it also seems like I mistook the pechay seed I accidentally planted
within the sibuyas dahoon pot to be it earlier on my documentary, the pechay is quite visible within the
pot with the sibuyas, I might have to replant that in the near future.

- I watered the plants.

Day 16:

Day 16 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- The pechay plants are growing even longer and their leaves are bigger, they look overcrowded so it
might be a good idea to make use of the other water bottles and other containers I have lying around to
replant some of them probably this week or the next when I have the time to cut apart some of them.

- The sibuyas dahon has these buds or leaves looking things on top of it I cannot properly identify what it
is but I’m glad it’s doing great, but I might have to replant this too when it grows too large for its
container including its pechay plant partner within the pot.

- I watered the plants.

Day 17:

Day 17 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

-Something happened with the plants someone or something tripped over them, my guess would be the
cats roaming around our house, well thankfully none of them were uprooted and fell on the ground but
the pechay plants and the sibuyas dahoon especially are visibly slanting due to the fall and I’m worried
that this accident will cost me another batch, I’ll just have to water them today, arrange them and
continue to monitor them.

- I watered the plants.

Day 18:

Day 18 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- Thankfully, the plants seem to have recovered from the recent fall they suffered yesterday, they are all
starting to grow upright again I was worried, especially for the sibuyas dahon, looking at its condition
yesterday. But I’m glad that all looks to be normal, I also rotated some of the pots because the pechay
are too slanted in one direction.

- I watered the plants.

Day 19:

Day 19 of growing Pechay and Sibuyas dahon at home.

- As I said, the pechay plants are growing rapidly and they now look too overcrowded in the small pots
and bottles I placed them in, so I’m planning this weekend that I’m going to replant some on them on
other pots, water bottles and bigger containers when I find the time to do so, I’ll have to be careful in
replanting them because the first time I did that, looking at the first batch I replanted into the pot
doesn’t look to well.

- The sibuyas dahon on the other hand I will keep on letting it grow up until a size that I’m okay with
before I replant it into a bigger container but for now, I will keep on monitoring its progress until the
time comes.

- I watered the plants.
