DAILY Teacher RODA MAE C. VALENZUELA Learning Area MATHEMATICS

LESSON Teaching Dates September , 2022
PLAN Quarter I
and Time Gomez, Burgos, Zamora

Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives,
necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities
may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative
I. OBJECTIVES Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable
children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the
curriculum guides.

A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sets and the real
number system.

B. Performance Standards The learner is able to formulate challenging situations involving sets and real
numbers and solve these in a variety of strategies.
The learner uses Venn Diagrams to represent sets, subsets, and set
operations

C. Learning Competencies/

code for each) b. Accurately illustrate the universal set and subsets using a Venn
diagram
c. Appreciate the importance of representing things in everyday life
through Venn diagrams.
Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach. In the
CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that students will
learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from formative
IV. PROCEDURES assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new
things, practice their learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they
learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.

From the diagram, answer the following questions.

1. What comprises the set of aquatic animals that can swim?
2. What comprises the set of aquatic animals that have fins?
3. Is the set of aquatic animals that can swim a part of those that have
fins?
4. Is the set of aquatic animals with fins a part of those that can swim?
5. What diagram was used to show the relationship between the two
sets?
From the diagram above, the following information are gathered.

2. The set of aquatic animals that have fins is the subset of the
universal set.

What are Venn diagrams?
Pictorial representations of sets represented by closed figures are called
set diagrams or Venn diagrams. Venn diagrams are used to show
relationships between sets and to illustrate various operations like union,
intersection, and difference.
We can express the relationship among sets through this in a more
significant way. In this, A rectangle is used to represent a universal set.
Circles or ovals are used to represent other
subsets of the universal set.

This shows that every element of A is in the universal set.

If a set A is a subset of set B, then the circle representing set A is drawn
inside the circle representing set B.
