NEGATIVE IMPACT
Difference in cultural and media traditions
There is a barriers that affect the communication between china and other
countries and that is the difference in their culture, values or norms and media
traditions. As we all know, China is one of the largest trader and in terms of
business. So for example, The Chinese elder and young western guy, greet
this Chinese guy by patting his back as a way of greeting and he take it as an
offensive manner considered as a rude for him or disrespecting him. This
phenomenon will lead to barriers to communication, serious or even cause
misunderstanding on both sides of the communication
Language barrier
With increased global communication, language barriers can become a hindrance. This
can lead to misunderstandings and miscommunications, which can have negative
consequences. Globalization is changing the sociolinguistic environment, which includes
the introduction of English in China. We know, English is considered as an international
language and influence Chinese people who do not speak English or other foreign
languages to study and learn because they may have difficulty communicating with
people from other countries, which may affect their ability to participate in global trade
and exchanges. As more people learn English language, there may be less incentive to
maintain local languages and dialects, which can result in the loss of cultural heritage
and identity. Affects the role and function of Mandarin Chinese, dialects like (Cantonese,
Min Chinese) and other languages within China.
Information control:
Despite the Internet's impact on communications in China, the government still tightly
controls the flow of information because they prevent citizens in accessing online
information about the potential immorally act of government. as is not and thats limit the
ability of Chinese citizens to freely express their opinions and communicate with people
from other countries, especially regarding sensitive topics such as politics and human
rights.
To the degree that China’s connection to the outside world matters there is still restriction
● The media system is still tightly controlled by the state. The Chinese
government had a history of seeing foreign media as a threat, as
agents bring “spiritual pollution” to the Chinese people and
society. Despite China’s entrance to the World Trade Organization in
2001, the Chinese government still imposes significant barriers such
has import quotas for movies, to the entrance to the foreign media.
Loss of minority languages as majority languages
