- Toyota has passed down the Five Main Toyota Principles since its inception, and has been
focusing on environmental measures since the 1960s. Toyota announced the Toyota
Environmental Challenge 2050 in 2015, the year the Paris Agreement was ratified at COP21*.
This is a long-term program focused on the global environment that will last until 2050. Some of
Toyota's projects include Special Olympics, which provide opportunities for athletes with
disabilities on a regular basis.
