“The Terminal”
Movie analysis
● Viktor Navorski, is the main character of the movie. A Krakozhian citizen that was
trapped at the airport because of his home country being considered as
non-existent after being taken over by a coup d’etat while he was on the plane.
He was told to stay at the airport until his home country is re-recognized by the
United States. I observed that he is kinda naive. Even if Frank Dixon has tried
multiple times to get rid of him I think he didn’t get the signal and still stayed in
the airport. As he speaks and understands little to no english, he had trouble
communicating with the people inside the airport. He was often misunderstood at
first, so he decided to learn english by himself. But he still managed to get the
staff and crews to like him, that they even celebrated with him when he was
finally allowed to leave. He’s helpful, kind, hardworking, and is good at tasks that
are assigned to him. But what I like the most about him is he always keeps his
promise no matter what.
● Frank Dixon, the head security of the airport, is the type of person who strictly
follows the rules no matter what which makes him not having compassion to
people most of the time. And he only does things that he knows will benefit him.
He tried to find ways and tried to convince Viktor so that he could leave the
airport and not be his responsibilities anymore.
● Amelia Warren is the love interest of Viktor and they didn’t really end up well. She
constantly looks for someone’s love and care but self-less at the same time. After
she found out she was having an affair with someone who was married she
ended things with the man and she even sacrificed her love for Viktor just so he
can fulfill his promise to his father.
● Enrique Cruz, Gupta, and Mulroy were Viktor’s friends that he met at the airport.
They supported him throughout his days staying inside the airport.
