Importance of learning Japanese
TEN (10 Reasons why we need to study the Japanese Language.

Japan has the 2nd largest economy in the world.

Knowing Japanese brings business opportunities.
Japanese is a gateway to other Asian languages & cultures.
Japanese-speakers are the Internet's 3rd largest language group.
The Japanese are innovators.
Japanese cultural exports are exploding.
Knowing Japanese will set you apart from the crowd.
The Japanese are international tourists.
It's not as hard as you think!
Japanese is a stepping stone to learning other Asian languages.

Is Japanese easy to learn?

Learning a new language is not easy but neither is it as difficult. It all depends on the
discipline and willingness of a person to commit to learning. Usually some would think it is
difficult because of the Japanese writing system which has Kanji and two sets of alphabet
called Hiragana and Katakana.
Also, Hiragana and Katakana are the phonetic symbols of Japanese language. In other
words, you don’t need to remember how to spell Japanese words, because their
pronunciations are directly related to their spelling, which is one of the easy aspects of
learning this language.
There are only five vowels in Japanese, namely, a i u e o. And it has fewer consonants
than English does. As a result, to compensate for the lack of sound elements, the Japanese
language has longer words.

The Japanese Writing System

Hiragana – a phonetic lettering system, which literally means ordinary or simple kana. This
is the most widely used in the country
Katakana – this means fragmentary kana which character is derived from a fragment or
component of a more complex kanji
Kanji – adopted logographic Chinese character that is used alongside the Japanese
writing system
