Terminology:

 Fiction – is a literature in the form of prose, especially short stories, novels which
describes imaginary events and people.
 Figment – extension of my imagination
 Fabrication – is something made up, like a lie. For instance, telling your boss that the
subway broke down when in fact you just forgot to set your alarm is a fabrication.
 Deception- is a act that deceive but not always intentionally. For instance – a foolish
deception designed to prevent her parents from worrying.
 Falsehood – is basically a lie statement or a story that one known to be false but tells
with intent to deceive. For instance – red bull makes you fly
Q) What makes film a complex narrative?
A film is written/acted/photographed/recorded/edited/directed/produced.

LANGUAGE OF A NEWSPAPER
The language of journalism is sometimes termed “ Journalese”.it is marked by simple words and
phrases used in every day conversation and also by short sentences and paragraphs.
“Action “ words are preferred.

 Micro composition:
Photographs/cartoons/info graphics/tables/ ads.

PERIODICALS
Periodicals caters to magazines with their specific frequency of issue.
For example-
 India Today- Frequency - fortnightly, genre – political interest
 Readers digest - Frequency - monthly, genre – general interest family periodical
 Womens era - Frequency - monthly, genre – women interest
