Course Goal Introduction to geographic data; use of digital maps and aerial/satellite
images as means of Earth observation; basics of spatial data analysis;
location‐based Web APPs; digital map services.

On the completion of this course, students should be able to:


- explain and communicate the advantages of an explicit geospatial
approach to monitoring, understanding and managing real world issues
across domains
- apply knowledge about Earth's dimensions, shape models and global
measurements to practical questions

to scale, context and application
- design the collection and selection of geospatial data in support of
specific use cases and workflows
- communicate geospatial data through shared visual interfaces using
web technologies
