ESSAY
The Jubilee Church’s Form is very dynamic by its flowing lines. The curved walls and sail-
shaped roof of the church creates a sense of movement and fluidity. Its white curved walls that are
made of reinforced concrete are curved both horizontally and vertically. The sailed-shaped roof
also adds up to dynamic design of the church, as it serves a purpose of allowing natural light to
enter the space which represents the journey of the faithful.
As the walls and roof are curved, the interior shape of the church is also curve which creates
a sense of community and togetherness among the worshippers. Also, the use of glass materials to
create a luminous spatial experience, adds up to the overall dynamic design of the church. The use
of both natural and artificial light creates a sense of serenity that unites the space inside the church.
The holiness and purity being present inside the church is created by these three highlights: white
marble-like concrete, curved designs, and glass materials.
Overall, the Jubilee Church is truly a masterpiece. The use of curved walls, creative use of
light, and white materials creates a stunning yet pure and simple This example of modern
architecture created by Ar. Richard Meier is truly beautiful and inspiring as he designs a unique
church.
