Description:
This app lesson will develop a better understanding of how to communicate to others using
AAC devices for students in the 4th grade Special Education classroom
Instructional Objective:
Students will be able to communicate using apps on AAC devices by identifying pictures and
words in order to communicate to others effectively

Step 1 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will be able to identify specific wants or
needs by tapping on interactive images that vocalize specific words

Step 2 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will type out their thoughts or ideas using
a simplified keyboard layout to communicate more easily without being distracted by symbols
and other functions.
