Title : Stand By Me Doraemon

Synopsis :

Knowing that Nobita’s future can still change, Doraemon and Nobita looked into the

“Future Television” to see Nobita’s future. They realized there was one event that threatened

Nobita’s future, and that was Nobita in older self rejecting Shizuka’s invitation to a mountain

climbing. The “Future Television” showed that Shizuka travelled alone in the blizzard, while

Nobita in the older self caught a cold. Thinking that Shizuka was separated from the group,

Nobita was thinking to help Shizuka by disguising into his older self.

Using the “Time Kerchief” Nobita disguised as his older self which is 14 years from

that time. He asked Doraemon to take him to his future’s timeline to save Shizuka from the

blizzard. Initially, Doraemon was not agree with the idea, and warned Nobita that the future

would change again by doing so, but Nobita insisted and went to the future timeline using the

“Time Machine”.

Shortly after they arrived at the future, Nobita asked Doraemon not to intervere him

saving Shizuka, he said that he must do it by himself. Without a proper plan, Nobita went to

where Shizuka was in the mountain by using “Anywhere door”. Not so long after, they took a

rest in a cave, Nobita realized that his effort to save Shizuka do more hurt to himself, but this

made Shizuka felt that she had to accompany Nobita by saying “Sure, why not” before she

collapsed because of the cold.

Nobita had to walk to the “Anywhere door” to save Shizuka, but the blizzard buried it

in snow and made it impossible to find. Realizing Shizuka’s vitals were in danger, Nobita

forced his older self to remember that moment. Not long after that, they were rescued by

Nobita’s older self who recalled the memory, and hurried to save them by driving a futuristic

vehicle to take them to town.

After Shizuka was saved, Nobita told his older self that Shizuka answered the

question he asked before climbing the mountain. Knowing the answer, Nobita in the older

self was rejoiced and told his younger self that Shizuka accepted his proposal to marry him. It

means that Shizuka will indeed marry Nobita.

Out of curiosity about what happened next, Nobita and Doraemon went to the day that

Nobita and Shizuka are getting married. Soon they found out that it was the wrong day, and it

is a day sooner. Nobita and Doraemon followed his older self and found out that Suneo, Gian

and Dekisugi were throwing a party before Nobita’s wedding. After that, they followed

Shizuka in the older self and listened to her conversation with her father about her marriage.

In the conversation, Shizuka’s father stated that Shizuka had found a great man who is kind

in his heart, and also stated that he accepted Nobita as his daughter’s spouse. After hearing

that, Nobita and Doraemon returned to their timeline, and Nobita promised Shizuka that he

will make her happy whatever happened.

Review/ Critics :

These 25 minutes have been the best part of the movie so far. It shows how Nobita

finally uses his own strength, relies on himself, believes in himself and proves that he can

actually do amazing things. Other than that, it also teaches us to believe in ourselves more

than others. It happened when Nobita tries to go to the future to save Shizuka and hopefully

change his future, but then Doraemon tries to stop him by saying that he doesn’t think clearly

and his attempt would be useless. But Nobita didn’t care about what Doraemon said and he

did it, he saved Shizuka and changed his future. It teaches us to believe in ourselves, even

though people around us are saying the things that could bring us down. If you listen to those

who bring you down, you will always face difficulties in your life and you will never achieve

all of your dreams.
