1. Catastrophe- a momentous tragic event ranging from extreme misfortune to utter


overthrow or ruin.
2. Construct- to  make or form by combining or arranging parts or elements
3. Contingency-  an event (such as an emergency) that may but is not certain to occur.
Trying to provide for every contingency.

5. Determine-  to settle or decide by choice of alternatives or possibilities
6. Disaster- a sudden calamitous event bringing significant damage, loss, or destruction
7. Disaster resilient- “Disaster Resilience is the ability of countries, communities, and
households to manage change by maintaining or transforming living standards in the face
of shocks or stresses — such as earthquakes, drought or violent conflict — without
compromising their long-term prospects.”
8. Implemented- a device used in the performance of a task
9. Intervals- a space of time between events or states
10. Man Made-  is manufactured, created, or constructed by human beings;
11. Manifest-  readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight
12. Mitigation- to cause to become less harsh or hostile
13. Natural Disaster- a sudden and terrible event in nature (such as a hurricane, tornado, or
flood) that usually results in severe damage and many deaths. The earthquake was one of
the worst natural disasters of this century.
14. Occurrence- the action or fact happening or occurring 
15. Perspectives- a mental view or prospect
16. Preparedness-  the quality or state of being prepared
17. Resilience- an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change
18.  Ring of Fire- is a region around much of the rim of the Pacific Ocean where many
volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur. 
19. Risk- the possibility of loss or injury
20. Seismically- of, subject to, or caused by an earthquake
21. Simulation- to give or assume the appearance or effect of often with the intent to
deceive: IMITATE
