Ans: 1. Using contaminated water for drinking, preparing food etc.

Ans: Diarrhoea, typhoid, cholera, dysentery, jaundice etc.
3. Write the names of ingredients of oral saline.
Ans: Molasses or sugar, salt and water are the ingredients of oral saline.
4. What are the symptoms of water borne diseases?
Ans: The symptoms of water borne diseases are loose motion, vomiting, fever and
stomach cramp.
5.How can we prepare oral saline at home?
Ans: Oral saline can be prepared at home by using a pinch of salt and a handful of
molasses or sugar with half litre safe water.

Ans: The best way to prevent water borne diseases is to stop the transmission of germs.
We can prevent water borne diseases by the following ways:
a) We should use clean and safe water for drinking, preparing food and bathing.
b) We should wash hands with soap and water before and after eating.
c) We should use hygienic toilet to prevent water borne diseases.
d) We should wash our hands after defecation with soap and clean water properly.

2.What are the good habits to keep our body healthy?


Ans:The best way to stay healthy is to follow the rules of good health and live a regular
life style. The following are good habits to keep our body healthy:
a. We must have to eat balanced diet to maintain good health.
b. We have to take regular exercise to keep our body healthy.
c. We need a time to relax and adequate sleep to keep our body healthy.
d. We have to be careful about our personal hygiene to keep ourselves healthy.

3.Describe how to keep ourselves neat and clean?


Ans: We have to take good care of our body to keep it neat and clean. We should wash
our hands before and after meal and brush our teeth after meal. We have to change
clothes regularly and take care of the hair, skin, nails, eyes and ears.
