Reader's Workshop
In reader's workshop, we have
been focusing on retelling and
visualizing. In addition to building
these reading comprehension skills,
students are using Lexia to build
word analysis skills. By practicing
these skills in class and at home,
we are seeing some big
improvements!

Math Workshop
Students are continuing their hard
work in small math groups. They
also complete math facts pages
and workbook review activities
each day. Finally, each Wednesday
we complete a full class lesson.
Recent topics include coordinate
graphs and triangles.

Writer's Workshop
After being inspired by the story "I
Wanna Iquana," students have
started their own persuasive letters.
Topics range from why we need an
elevator at the LP to why a child
should get an allowance (sorry)! We
have loved to see students using
strong persuasive language while still
being polite and respectful.

Social Studies
We have launched into our new
social studies curriculum, Inquiry
Journeys. We are tackling the
question: How can we work together
for the good of our community? So
far, we have discussed our rights
and responsibilities as citizens,
fairness, and laws. We are looking
forward to more reflective and
engaging conversations!
