AFFECTIVE ASSESSMENT TOOLS

• Competency in the Affective domain from the K-12 Curriculum guide:

*One competency in the affective domain from K-12 curriculum guide is

"empathy." Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others.
It is a critical skill that helps individuals connect with others and build positive
relationships. To assess empathy, I have developed a tool called the "Empathy
Scale."

• Assessment Tool (any of the following - Checklist, Likert, Semantic

Differential, etc..)

Direction: Each statement is supposed to measure your empathy towards other. Indicate your response
with a check (✓).

Legend: (5) Strongly Agree, (4) Agree, (3) Neutral, (2) Disagree, (1) Strongly Disagree

To score the Empathy Scale, add up the scores for each statement. The highest
possible score is 50, and the lowest possible score is 10. A higher score indicates
a higher level of empathy.

Interpretation:

40-50: Excellent level of empathy

30-39: Good level of empathy

20-29: Fair level of empathy

10-19: Poor level of empathy
