I write to apply to your extended observation unit (EOU) care coordinator position at Sunrise
Canyon Hospital as seen on the job, posted on ZipRecruiter. I am interested in this role as it
would allow me the opportunity to apply my educational experience in crisis to actual people. I
have worked in customer service since 2017, which I believe would make me an excellent
candidate.

My educational background has prepared me to obtain a career in the human services field. I will
graduate in August 2023 with a BS in Counseling and Addiction Recovery Sciences from Texas
Tech University. My education has given me a strong background in addiction, the recovery
process, and mental health crisis. It has provided me with excellent interpersonal skills, that I can
use while performing assessments on clients, communicating with providers and coworkers. As
well as equipping me with knowledge of the resources available in the community to help
individuals.

My work experience in the customer service industry complements my education. Customer

service experience has given me the ability to deal with circumstances that are unexpected.
Being able to respond quickly and come up with solutions would be a great fit in crisis work. My
current job at HEB has allowed me to strengthen the interpersonal skills that were acquired in the
classroom. I have also gained leadership experience in the workforce by training new employees,
speaking with people, and helping them access the necessary resources are some of the greatest
strengths.

In all aspects of my work, whether academic or professional, I apply effective communication,

effective problem resolutions skills, and time management. I hope to apply to the EOU care
coordinator position.
