Singular & Plural A1.1
Singular :
Singular means “one”
When referring to “one thing” usually we use “a” or “an” before the noun.
Examples:
A man
NOTE :
Use “an” if the next word starts with vowel (A-I-U-E-O)
Use “a” if the next word starts with consonant.
Plural :
Plural means “more than one”
When referring to more than one things, we add –s at the end of the word, and
we don’t use “a” or “an”.
Examples:
Singular Plural
Boat Boats
Plane Planes
Apple Apples
Cat Cats
House Houses
1. Bus – Buses
2. Wish – Wishes
3. Box – Boxes
4. Bench – Benches
Nouns that ends with –y should be added –ies in the plural form.
Examples:
1. Baby – Babies
2. Dummy – Dummies
3. City – Cities
4. Spy – Spies
1. Mathematics
2. Economics
3. News
