Different types of sandwiches (hot and cold)

COLD SANDWICHES

*Open-FacedSandwiches -One type of bread is used for open sandwiches, with the filling placed on top.
White bread slices can be divided into squares, triangles, or rounds.

Use biscuits, cookies, or toast instead of bread by lightly spreading butter on top and arranging and
garnishing appealingly pieces of cheese or meat fillings.

*Regular Cold Sandwiches-

A simple sandwich consists of two pieces of bread, preferably from the same day, that may be easily
smeared with butter and are toastable if needed. Depending on your preference, you may or may not
remove the crusts from the food. To stop the bread from collecting moisture from the filling, add butter,
mayonnaise, or a premade sandwich spread as a liner. Additionally, it guarantees that the bread and the
filling will adhere to one another.

*Pinwheel Sandwiches-The bread used to make pinwheels is about 3/8 inch thick when cut lengthwise.
It is best to use fresh cream bread because it rolls easily and won't crack. With a rolling pin, trim the
crusts and flatten the lengthy slices. Butter or margarine that has been softened and your choice of any
smooth filling, such as cream cheese, marmalades, cheese pimiento, peanut butter, jams, or jellies,
should be spread on bread. Pinwheel sandwiches work best with smooth fillings because they can be
distributed thinly and lack bulk. Wrap bread in jelly rolls.

*Tea Sandwiches-Tea sandwiches are tiny, elegant sandwiches created with crustless bread and light,
delicate ingredients. and might be prepared beforehand and frozen. They are frequently sliced into
elegant shapes; the variety includes squares, rectangles, and oblongs. Spreads and fillings can be used
interchangeably with canapés.
*Multi-decker Sandwiches-are prepared with more than two slices of bread (or rolls divided into more
than two pieces) and a variety of filling components. The club sandwich is a well-known three-decker
sandwich constructed of sliced chicken, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. It is then split into four
triangles.

*Wrap/Rolled Sandwiches-Wraps are sandwiches where the fillings are encased in a sizable wheat
tortilla or other flatbread, much like a Mexican burrito. If they are huge, you can serve them whole or
sliced in half.

HOT SANDWICHES

*Regular Hot Sandwiches-Simple hot sandwiches are made with two slices of bread and a hot filling,
usually meat but occasionally fish, grilled veggies, or something else hot. They might also include non-
heated ingredients, such a tomato slice or a raw onion on a hamburger.

*Hot Open-Faced Sandwich-To make an open-faced sandwich, place buttered or unbuttered bread on a
serving dish. Then, top it with hot meat or another filling and a sauce, gravy, slice of cheese, or other
garnish. Use a knife and fork to eat this kind of sandwich.

*Grilled Sandwiches-Simple sandwiches that are buttered on the outside and browned on the griddle, in
a hot oven, or on a Panini grill are known as grilled sandwiches, sometimes known as toasted
sandwiches (see sidebar). Cheese sandwiches are a common grilled food.

*Deep Fried Sandwiches-Sandwiches are prepared by being dipped in beaten egg and occasionally bread
crumbs before being deep-fried.

*Filled rolls, focaccia or pitta bread -flavored breads used with tortilla chips and quesadillas, among
other dips
