Mentee Guidelines for CIPTA 2022

General Information
Mentorship period: 19/2/22 (Sat) - 2/4/21 (Fri); 6 weeks
Expected mentoring sessions: 3 per team (once per fortnight); 30mins - 1hr per session

(START) Workshop 1 This workshop focuses on ideation and problem statement, solution sketching, and will include sharing sessions
by Ex-CIPTA participants.

5 Mar Business Workshop Business Plan


This workshop focuses on revenue model and business model canvas.

12 Mar Entrepreneurship Innovation Investment and Fundraising


Workshop 2 This workshop focuses on innovation and fundraising.

19 Mar Entrepreneurship Build your Startup


Workshop 3 This workshop focuses on branding, marketing, prototyping and pitching.

2-3 Apr Demo Day Pitch


(END) Teams will pitch to a panel of judges about their startup/idea/prototype, followed by a Q&A and feedback session.
Mentee’s roles
1. Attend mentoring sessions with mentees on a fortnightly basis. Date and time is set through discussion
between both parties.
2. Work on tasks/presentations which will be reviewed by the mentors where they will provide constructive
feedback on areas of improvement. There will be 3 tasks to work on throughout the entire 8 week CIPTA
program. Only teams with full tasks submission and mentoring attendance will get an exclusive invitation
to pitch at Demo Day (except for special circumstances).
a. All task submissions must be submitted by the given deadline.
b. At the end of every mentoring fortnight, each team will be contacted by the PIC to fill up a summary
form to give a short feedback on what they have learned in the session.
3. Achieve the weekly goals and expectations set up by mentees throughout the entire mentoring session.

*video pitches must be submitted by the given deadline to iCUBE. Mentees may meet the mentor before submitting the
video pitches. There are two options to proceed with the mentoring session:
a. If mentees are meeting the mentor before video pitch is ready, they will need to live pitch/present to their mentor
during the session
b. If mentees have their video pitch ready before the scheduled mentoring session, they should submit a copy of the
video directly to their mentor and request the mentor to review and provide feedback during the session

Mentor-mentee Pairing
1. Mentor-mentee pairing will be announced on the 19th Feb (Sat).
2. Mentor-mentee pairing will be done by the iCUBE committees. These will be assessed based on the mentor’s
relevant area of expertise and also the mentee’s field of interest.

Communication Channel
❏ The mentor and mentees should contact one another regarding the preferred communication channel ASAP.
❏ A CIPTA Discord server will be introduced during the mentor-mentee pairing day and it is a recommended
communication channel for efficiency and convenience.
