Is the world a better place since the Internet?

The existence of the Internet, like many other things in our world today, has made a difference in the way we

buy, sell, work, meet new people and even understand the world. In general, the Internet made human

communications faster, more flexible and more widely distributed, but it also introduced problems that were

previously easier to solve or, what 's worse, didn't exist at all. However,I will try to show that its advantages

far exceed its disadvantages.

First of all, we have to know what is it.The Internet is a computer network of immense scope, capable of

linking terminals located at opposite ends of the world, this occurs thanks to a set of common protocols. Or

what is the same, is the network of computer networks, so wide and so fast that it is capable of

communicating with people over immense distances. This is already a great virtue in itself, and one of the

main causes of why this invention was so revolutionary

The second advantage would be having the possibility of sending an immense quantity of messages,

emails , direct messages through social media, calls or facetimes on a daily basis, was something that years

ago was even unthinkable. What used to require a costly phone call or a slow post office delivery is now at

our disposal through a computer or a smartphone.

And this advantage goes further. Nowadays we also use the internet in business, in order to buy or to sell

things, hire people, to obtain goods or services and more. So as you see, this invention was so revolutionary

and far-reaching that it can only be compared to the massification of electricity, or the invention of agriculture.

Its impact on our lives has been massive in just sixty years of existence, and that is just the tip of the iceberg

of a major change in the way we shape our society.

However, the Internet also has disadvantages. When we talk about problems with the Internet, we are not

talking about the Internet itself, but about the way we use it. The biggest problems related to the internet are

hacks, addictions, identity theft, and so on. Nevertheless, some of these problems are trying to be solved by

useful programs such as antivirus.

All in all, the Internet is probably the most revolutionary invention of the last century, and even though it isn’t

perfect, it has definitely made a change for the better in our society.
