ABSTRACT
The main objective of the project is to design, construct, and test the alarm
bell system of flood warning device that can detect increase in water level. The device
was developed using an alarm bell, light bulb, PVC, and plastic bottle as an
improvised sensor. Functionality of the device was tested by placing it in a large
container filled with water. Based on the testing of the device, it is capable of
providing real-time water level alerts such as 10-in and 14-in increase in water height
through a ringing bell system; the sound of the device can be loudly heard up to 80
m away from the flood alarm. Test results showed that the flood alarm device
achieved the design requirements.
This flood warning device is of great help in saving properties and keeping
individuals safe during flood disaster by alerting the residents of a community if
there is a sudden increase of water level especially in flood-prone areas. Since the
components of the device are inexpensive and simple in structure, it can be easily
replicated and customized by schools, households and communities frequently
affected by flood.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We, the researchers, would like to express our massive thanks to the people
who helped us for the conduct of this project.
First and foremost to the Almighty who guided us throughout the completion
of this study. Second, to our parents for supporting us in various ways. We suppose
without the education and upbringing they have given us, none of this would have
even got started. Third, to the school administration, for the supervision, advice and
guidance from the very early stage of this project. Fourth, to our SHS teachers which
remarkably inspired and enriched our growth as a student, researcher, and a
scientist want to be. Lastly, to our classmates for helping us and for cracking jokes
every now and then that always lighten up our mood during difficult times.
