G. Speaking (page 12-13 of the e-textbook) - Write a dialog for each of the situations.

1. You are doing the History Project with your group at the library after school. Your best friend cannot
finish his/her part. Offer a help to do it together.

Fauzan : Guys, have you finished your part for this History Project?
Zecklyn : Yes, I have finished it.
Aidha : Me too.
Aurel : I have finished a part of it, but not all. There is one of the problems I don’t know the answer.
Fauzan : Which one?
Aurel : The third one. I have done the first two and the fourth one is partially done.
Fauzan : Would you like to work it out together? I think we can figure it out together.
Aurel : That’s a good idea! Thanks a lot.
Fauzan : No worries.

2. School holiday is coming soon. You and your family have a plan to go abroad, but do not have time
to surf the internet to find the best place and best deal. Offer your parents to find the needed
information and to arrange the vacation with the tour agent.

Aurel : Mom, Dad, school holidays are coming soon. Do you guys have any suggestions where to go
this time?
Mom : Oh, Dear, we have plans to go aboard, but unfortunately we don’t have time to surf the internet
to find the best places and deals.
Aurel : Hooray! Don’t worry, Mom, Dad. Would you like me to contact the tour agent to find the
needed information and arrange the vacation?
Mom : Yes, please. That will be very helpful.
Aurel : Okay, Mom. I will make a call with the tour agent tomorrow.
Dad : Alright then, let me know when it is time for payment. Thanks a lot, Dear.
Aurel : Okay, Dad. My pleasure.

3. You work in a tour agency. You see a young gentleman enter

your office awkwardly. Offer your service and try to convince him to
take one of your holiday packages.

Aidha : Hi good morning, what can I help you?

Andrew : Um hi, I’m looking for a
holiday packages.
Aidha : Sure, who am I spoke to?
Andrew : Oh, I’m Andrew. Nice to meet you.
Aidha : Hi Andrew, I’m Aidha nice to meet you too. Well, let’s start with the date.
Andrew : I don’t really know the date but it’s around Christmas and New Year's holiday
Aidha : Okay, and where do you want to go?
Andrew : Norfolk would be perfect for family.
Aidha : Okay got it, here’s the available date to Norfolk.
Andrew : Woah, okay. I think I may ask for your suggestion.
Aidha : I think December 23rd would be perfect then you can go back at January 3rd. How about that?
Andrew: Perfect! For 4 people yeah?
Aidha: Right, I’ll show you the terms and conditions in my office
Andrew: Thank you so much for your help Aidha, it’s very helpful for a people who haven’t
experienced in tour agency.
Aidha: My pleasure, Andrew. Glad I can help you.
4. A friend is absent because she is sick. You visit her this afternoon. Your friend needs your help to
communicate with the teacher about an assignment that she hasn’t finished yet. Offer her a help.

Angel : Hi, good afternoon, Zecklyn. Why don't you go to school today?
Zecklyn : Hi, Angel, yes I can't come to school today because since last night I have a fever and dizzy.
Angel : Sadly, common fever or dengue fever?
Zecklyn : Common fever Angel, my temperature last night was 39 degrees celsius, but this morning it
has dropped.
Angel : Oh, nice to hear that. How are you feeling now?
Zecklyn : Still a little dizzy, feverish and feeling cold.
Angel : Don't forget to take medicine and eat healthy food. Get well soon Zecklyn, I hope you can be
back on Monday.
Zecklyn : Thank you so much, Angel. Anyway, I need help, can you help me?
Angel : With pleasure! What can I help you? Tell me what to do.
Zecklyn : I need you to help me to communicate with Ms.Kayla about the assignment. I haven't done it
yet.
Angel : Sure, I have her number here. Would you like me to call her or send her a text?
Zecklyn : Up to you, Angel. Basically Ms.Kayla knows I haven't done it yet because I’m sick.
Angel : Okay, Zecklyn, now I will contact Ms.Kayla.
Zecklyn : Thanks for helping me, Angel.
Angel : You're welcome, Zecklyn.

5. You want to go to the movie this weekend. You ask several friends to go with you. Two of your
friends cannot make up their minds. Offer to treat them so that they can go with you.

Aurel : Hey, Guys! Do you have any plans for the weekend?
Fauzan : Not really, why?
Aidha : Me neither.
Zecklyn : I don’t have any plans either. Why?
Aurel : Well I think I’m going to go to the movies with Lily and Lisa tomorrow. Do you want to come
with us?
Fauzan : Well, since I don’t have any plans, I’m coming with you.
Aidha : I would love to but I can’t. I don’t think I have enough money to pay the ticket.
Zecklyn : Me neither. I’m kind of broke right now.
Aurel : Don’t worry, guys. Would you like me to treat both of you?
Aidha : Are you sure you would not mind?
Aurel : Of course not!
Aidha : That will be very helpful. Thanks a lot.
Zecklyn : I’m extremely grateful for having you as my friend. Thank you for your help.
Aurel : I’m happy to help.
Fauzan : So what time and where shall we meet tomorrow?
Aurel: How about after dinner around 7PM at my house?
Fauzan : That sounds good. Okay, then. See you!
Aidha : Okay. See you!
Zecklyn : See you!
Aurel : See you!
