Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a Tanzanian lady with bachelor degree in Medicine awarded in 2020 with One
year experience working at a National Hospital. The study of health and medicine has
always fascinated me and my educational experience in Tanzania has only
encouraged that interest. Now I am seeking for an opportunity to further my interest
by studying a Masters in Medical Microbiology in Turkey. Studying in Turkey is of
benefit for me and people in my country. The university of KOC has facilities that are
very good for my higher learning experience. They also have developed Laboratories
and laboratory equipments, and all of these are supportive of my learning and
getting to know the study of microbiology at a broader level. My dream is to become
a researcher in microbiology, and it will help to be a great support to my society and
enable me to provide good primary health care to my community. .

My interest in Microbiology was growing since when I was young. After I lost my
Parents due to HIV/AIDS I had a lot of questions in my mind, and thus, after that
experience I wanted to know more about how diseases spread from one person to
another and out of curiosity I wanted to know how I survived being affected with
HIV, I would say I had no option but to join Biology classes so that I would get an
opportunity to quench my curiosity. I started to learning about biology deeply, and my
focus was to deepen my understanding of the subject.

My last two years in the university encouraged a deep interest in Microbiology , on

my third year I was introduced to different Laboratory procedures and my professors
encouraged me by showing me the things I did not know about microbiology . And
finally on my final year I was certain about my interest in Microbiology and
immunology. Also, during my internship I found that I was not just carrying it out to
secure my bachelor’s degree but because I really liked the study of microbiology and
I wanted to know more about how the diseases spread through micro-organisms. I
enjoyed learning about how different procedures are done and how they can be of
help in my community so as to provide the right information by knowing more about
various health conditions and finding a proper way to take precautions.
I am Fortunate to have a family that supports my dreams even when they failed to
understand nor believe them to be possible. They were willing to make sacrifices for
me, unfortunately that is not the case in majority of girls in my society with same
background as mine.I aspire to be one of the people to change that by supporting
younger girls to pursue their dreams and make a change in my country.
Being selected in this program presents invaluable opportunity to further my career
and support many people globally with effort to develop our Health systems. I will be
honoured and humbled to be selected to join this esteemed program.

Thank you very much for considering my application and I am looking forward to
hearing from you.

Sincerely,

MIRIAM LUCAS.
