Introduction

Topic: Sports

Issue: Doping

Aim: To educate athletes about the negative effects of using

drugs while Participating in sports

Target audience: Sports men and women

Evaluation of project outcome

I am pleased to say that our project has partially successfully

achieved its aim (infoaboutdopping). Our website has proven
to be an excellent source of information and has helped
people become more aware of doping. However, I have
concerns about whether people will be inclined to read the
website. Despite being informative and concise, the website's
aesthetic appeal was lacking. Next time I suggest that we
should focus on improving the website's appearance to make
it more eye-catching and interesting, which will help attract
more readers in the future.

Evaluation of on work process

Throughout the project, we faced several challenges that
could have been avoided if we had communicated better as
a group. Only communicating in class was not beneficial
because there was not enough time to share ideas and
views. To improve this, we could have created a group
outside of class to communicate and air our views on the
project. It would have allowed us to use the time in the class
effectively and not get distracted by other topics.
While our planning and distribution of tasks were effective at
the beginning of the project, we did not stick to our plan
throughout the project duration. This became a burden to
everyone in the group, and we experienced delays. For
instance, one person worked on the website alone, causing
us to submit our outcome late. They were also not available
on the day of submission, forcing us to make a whole other
website. We should have planned ourselves better and
shared the workload in the group to avoid such issues.

Benefits and Challenges of working in a Team

Working as a team can be both beneficial and challenging. It

is beneficial because the workload is too much for an
individual to do alone and working as a group can be more
time-efficient. Working as part of a team also provides
opportunities to learn from one's peers and to gain a better
understanding of the task at hand.

However, there can be certain challenges when working as a

team. For instance, if a team member is absent, the group
can be hindered. This can lead to delays and create issues
with the teacher. Additionally, if one team member is not
listening to the opinions of others or working independently,
it can be difficult to complete the task successfully.

Own work performance

I performed passably when doing my assignments in the

group. I was diligent in making sure that my tasks were
completed and handed in before the due date, even though I
was never delegated any additional responsibilities.

The issue was that I was far too hesitant to express my ideas
and opinions. By not speaking up, I was at a disadvantage in
the group. I was never able to share my insights, nor was I
able to gain any insight from the other members.
Cross-Cultural Perspective

Through my research on doping, I was surprised to discover

a wide range of perspectives on the issue. While some
cultures support doping before a sporting event, others do
not. Before my research, I was unaware of the differences
between doping and other drugs, such as weed. I was also
shocked to learn that Russia has had numerous doping
violations, resulting in their ban from the Olympic Games.
Cycling, in particular, has been heavily scrutinised for its
doping violations. A cyclist wrote an article discussing the
unfairness of the cycling sport being viewed in such a
negative light, even though this is not an accurate
representation of the sport.

In many cultures, sports serve as a way to promote health,

fitness, and cultural values such as teamwork, discipline, and
respect.

Overall Personal Learning

When conducting my research, I was able to acquire many
skills. Before this project, I would often avoid doing my work
and was never serious about it. However, working in a team
helped me to be more responsible and finish my work on
time. It has also helped me to improve my social skills.
Working in a team has also improved my efficiency and
productivity. I have found that it is easier to ask someone
who knows about the project what needs to be done and to
get help if there is any confusion. Each member of the team
has a specific role, which helps us stay focused on our goals
and keeps the project on track. This approach has also
helped me to develop better teamwork skills, as everyone
knows what is expected of them.

Overall personal findings

Doping is a serious issue that has plagued sports for many
years. After conducting research on this topic, I have come
to understand the severe consequences of doping, not only
for athletes but also for society as a whole. Doping not only
undermines the integrity of sports but also poses a
significant health risk to those who engage in it. I have
learned that doping is not just about cheating but also about
the impact it has on the athletes' physical and mental health.
In conclusion, researching doping has taught me that sports
should be fair and honest, and athletes should compete on a
level playing field. Doping undermines the values of
sportsmanship and integrity, and it is crucial to continue
efforts to eliminate it from sports.

Connection between team and personal elements

There are many similarities between my personal research

and the research conducted by the team. Firstly, we both
researched the effects of doping on individuals. Specifically,
we looked into how doping has impacted various sports and
how the reputations of athletes have been tarnished as a
result.
Additionally, we both recognized the importance of
conducting thorough research and analysis in order to draw
accurate conclusions. We worked together to gather and
analyse data, and we were able to identify key trends and
patterns that helped us to better understand the impact of
doping.
Overall, I believe that the team's research was a valuable
experience that helped me to develop my research and
analysis skills. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with
such a talented and dedicated group of individuals, and I look
forward to applying the knowledge and skills that I have
gained in future research endeavours.
