Warm-up Suggested activity: Keep talking + Write the topic “Shopping” on the board and have students think of at least two questions related to the topic given + Give students a random number (e.g. numbers from 1 to 12 for 12 students) and invite them to come to the board and stand in a circle + Teacher calls out a number and a questions and the student with that number will need to answer the question. + The student then calls out a different number together with a question for another student to answer + The activity continues until all of the numbers are called out - Textbook activities: Have ss do the activities in the textbook 2. Speaking part 2: Developing ideas in speaking part 2 - Pay students’ attention to the tips given - Guide and instruct ss on how to make good use of the preparation time (what to do, what to note, how to collect ideas...) and how to develop each cue/ideas in speaking part 2 - Have ss practice with the topic in their textbook - Invite them to deliver their talks and invite other ss to give comments - Ask ss to go through the checklist to see whether - Suggested activity: Pair work + Assign topics for students + Ask ss to make use of one-minute preparation time to make notes on the topic + Ask ss to sit in pairs, one students speaks while the other listens and notes down some comments or mistakes made by their friends 1st: Have ss take turn to talk about their topics without any set time limit Ss discuss with each other, listening to their friend’s comments to make suitable changes for the second try nd 2 : Have ss take turns to talk for at most 2 minutes - Other suggested topics for further pratice in class or homework:
