Position Title: Senior Research Manager

Business Unit: Research
Location: Malaysia

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Analysis and Research:
 Tracking, analyzing and market sizing of the IT Services market on a regular (e.g., monthly,
quarterly) basis
 Data analysis including collection, entry, processing, and maintenance of databases for
regional IT Services research programs
 Report writing via consolidation of primary research conducted via interviews
 Creating and maintaining research databases
 Coordination & collaboration with domain specialists within IDC on constructing reports and
research at the sub-regional and regional levels
 Participation in, or contributions to local or regional consulting projects
 Questionnaire design and execution
 Presentation of findings to IDC clients
 Answer client inquiries and track client interactions in the IDC database
 Assist and co-produce press releases, media queries and appearances

Consulting Projects:
 Contributing to local, sub-regional, and regional projects
 Keeping current with industry trends and new research, locally and globally
 Provide support to SEA regional and global consulting/ custom research
 Ownership of custom research project workflow, ranging from support for business
development, proposal generation, through analysis and project fulfilment
 Coordinating and conducting all aspects of research on each project including running
primary research, data gathering, analysis and processing, report writing and presentation
 Project management coordination between multiple countries and departments

Business Development:
 Support of IDC ASEAN business development efforts locally and in the region
 Present to customers as well as in industry conferences/events
 Support during Sales presentations

QUALIFICATIONS

 A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in IT services

 Preference would be given to candidates from analyst firms and consulting backgrounds.
Relevant service provider or vendor backgrounds also applicable.
 Speak English proficiently.
 Lead & Provide leadership to Asean analyst & working peers.
 The analyst will need to develop into an authority on the telecom service provider industry,
observing and communicating trends, and competitive forces
 Strong writing skills are essential. The analyst will be responsible for producing high quality
and insightful research reports

  Excellent communication skills essential – written and verbal. The analyst will be required to
create and deliver presentations, to clients and at public events.
 Strong interpersonal skills, experience of having worked in a multi-cultural and distributed
team environment will be a key advantage
 Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen strong relationships with peers and external
people such as customers
 Excellent time management skills while at the same time able to effectively multi-task
 Detail oriented, meticulous, perseverant, and passion for excellence
 Highly motivated individual able to work independently
