CPAS DATALOADING CHECKLISTS

IMPORTING JEPPESEN DATA (E-Charts)

1. Insert the Jeppesen Pro Line 21 CD into your CD drive.


2. Often, a window will open to show the contents of the CD. If this should
occur, close it.
3. Double click on the CPAS-3000 Launchpad Icon.
4. Double click on the Manage Data/Software button.
5. At the bottom of the panel, click on the Import button.
6. In the drives section, select your CD drive, typically the d: drive.
7. In the Available Data/Software block on the right side, all files available
for importation should appear…checkmark the block to the left of the
desired file.
8. Click on the OK button to begin importation.
9. After importation is complete and the “Done!” message appears, click the
Close button.

INSTALLING COLLINS DATA (FMS, Enhanced Maps, GWX)

1. Connect to the Collins FMS database website at


www.rockwellcollins.com/fms.
2. Select the tab labeled Database Downloads.
3. Login using your username and password.
4. Click on the database you wish to download.
5. When the File Download window appears, select Save.
6. When the Save As window opens, point the Save In field to your
computer’s desktop or select a memory stick if you will be transferring
this data to another computer.
7. Select Save. Once the process is complete, the dialog box will close.
8. The data now must be extracted. Locate the icon for the desired
downloaded database on your desktop or memory stick and double click the
icon.
Note:
If you are transferring data via a memory stick, execute the file on the memory stick. Do
not copy it to another location. This can corrupt the data.

9. The Install Wizard will begin the “preparation to install” routine.


10. Follow the prompts.
11. Repeat steps 5 – 12 for any additional databases you wish to update.

AIRCRAFT PREPARATORY STEPS

1. Disable security program(s) and wireless networks on the laptop.


2. Hook laptop to aircraft maintenance port with a standard RJ-45 cable.
3. Turn aircraft Maintenance switch ON.
4. Press the DATABASE button on the Cursor Control Panel to display the
Database Effectivity page on the MFD.

LAUNCHING CPAS & LOADING DATA

1. On the laptop’s desktop, double click the CPAS-3000 Launchpad Icon.


2. Double click on the Dataload Icon.
3. Locate and click the Refresh Targets Button. The blue and white arrows
inside the Refresh Targets Button will disappear.
4. On the MFD, the database list will be removed and a message will be
displayed reading “Processing Request”. This message will be replaced
by “Database Effectivity Fault” and “FSU Inop” messages... All normal
indicators.
5. After the refreshing is complete, the blue and white arrows will
reappear. Verify all targets are available in the Select Target LRU menu.
Note:
The available targets include: 429 Based LRUs, FMC 1and FMC 2 if installed,
FSU, MDC and NODE

6. Highlight the first intended target using the Select Target LRU menu.
Select FSU if loading E-Maps, Jepp data, or graphical weather
Select FMC 1 (or FMC 2) if loading the Nav data
7. Click the drop down box labeled Select Data/Software to be Updated
and select the data file to be loaded.
8. Click on Begin Load.
9. Once the load is complete, a new target/database can be selected for
Loading.
10. Once all loads have been accomplished, completely exit the CPAS
program and disconnect the RJ-45 cable.
11. Monitor the Database Effectivity page until it has rebuilt the list of
databases.
12. Place the aircraft Maintenance switch to OFF.
13. Inspect the Database Effectivity page for database currency.
a. If the FMS database indicates Not Current, select the current Nav
database on the appropriate CDU.
b. After updating Charts you may see the message “No Chart
Available”. The chart menu has been cleared. Enter a flight plan
in the FMS or manually make a chart selection in the chart menu.

c. If the Airspace, Airways, Geographic, Political, or Graphical WX
have been loaded before the “BEGIN” date, the current cycle will
continue to be displayed until the next cycle’s effective date.
