WONDER (2017)

The film Wonder is based on New York time bestseller by Raquel J. Palacio. The film was
directed by Stephen Chbosky. It has 18 actors but just 8 are the main of them. Jacob Tremblay
as August Pullman, Julia Roberts as Isabella Pullman, Owen Wilson as Nate Pullman, Izabela
Vidovic as Olivia Pullman, Noah Jupe as Jack Will, Bryce Gheisar as Julian Albans, Danielle
Rose Russell as Miranda Navas and Millie Davis as Summer.
The film won 2 awards in 2018 for Imported Film at Bandung Film Festival. It was filmed in
Vancouver, Coney Island in the USA.
The main character, August, was born with a severe facial deformity, he had many surgeries to
have a better appearance. August completed first grade till fourth grade as a private student
with the help of his mother, but he starts fifth grade at a nearby school. Auggie is a normal
child except his face. His new classmates are afraid of him and for Auggie it’s hard to
integrate into the community. He only wants friends, who supports and helps him. At the end
of the film, his classmates accept Auggie, and they realize what a good person he is.
I strongly recommend this film because, people will learn to accept each other whether they
haven’t got any self-confidence, or they aren’t perfect. I read the book twice and I saw the
film at a cinema once. The book is based on the film and both of are fantastic. If someone
