3.2. Inputs
The NUR-36 has 2 current inputs:
A 5A input and a 1A input (nominal current).

Depending on the unbalance current one

of the current inputs (1A or 5A) should be
used on the NUR-36. (See Fig 3-2)
Check drawings and the bank technical
specifications which input to use.

3.3. Outputs
The NUR-36 has 4 relay outputs on
connector X2. (See Fig 3-3-1)
3.3.2. Trip relay
3.3.1. System fault The TRIP relay operates contacts 4-5 on
connector X2. These contacts are normally

detected the SF (system fault) relay will
operate it’s change-over contact.
3.3.3. Alarm relay
In normal operating mode, contacts 2-3 are
closed and 1-2 are open. If an internal fault The ALARM relay operates change-over
is detected or the unit’s power supply fails, contacts 6 to 8 on connector X2. Contacts
contacts 1-2 will close and 2-3 will open. 6-7 are normally closed and 7-8 are normally
open (no alarm condition). However, if the
start current for alarm (I set Alarm) is
exceeded for a period longer than tset Alarm,
contacts 7-8 will close and 6-7 will open.

3.3.4. Relay 3
The Relay 3 can be factory-set to work
simultaneously with the trip or alarm relay.
It’s configuration is specified by the
customer when ordering the unit from the
manufacturer.
Under normal conditions (no trip/alarm),
contacts 9-10 are closed and contacts 10-
11 are open. In an alarm/trip situation,
contacts 9-10 will open and 10-11 will close.

5. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

When the Unbalance Relay is operating under the conditions specified in the section
“Technical Data”, the relay is maintenance -free. The Unbalance Relay does not consist
of any component or part that could be subject to physical or electrical wear under normal
operating conditions.

In case the storage conditions or operating site has differed from those specified e.g.
temperature, humidity, dust and chemiacally active gases, the Unbalance Relay should be
visually inspected.

If an internal fault occures or if the measured magnitudes differs from the NUR-36
specifications the relay should be delivered to Nokian Capacitors Ltd or nearest authorized
service. Please contact the manufacturer (Nokian Capacitors Ltd) for further information
regarding overhaul and service of the relay.

Note! Static Protective relays are measuring instruments and should be handled with care
and protected against moisture and mechanical stress, especially during transport.

Recycling and disposal

This device is made of materials which can be disposed in an environmentally friendly way
and delivered to a proper recycling center. When the device is removed from service, it
will be used again if it operates according to regulation, or recycled/disposed properly.
Parts that are not fit to be used again will be disposed properly.

If you have any questions about the disposal of this device, please contact the supplier,
our service or Nokian Capacitors Ltd.
