In the past, the Muara Kaman area was an ocean. The waterfront was located in Berubus. At
that time, there was a kingdom whose port was visited by many ships from various directions.
Not only the city was famous, but the beautiful princess of the kingdom was also famous, her
name was Putri Aji Berdarah Putih. People called her that because when she munched daun
sirih and drank the water, she was so white you could the red water from daun sirih went
down her throat.

Hearing the beauty of Putri Aji Berdarah Putih, the King of the Negeri Seberang took his
troops to Berubus to propose to the princess by using large boat.

Hearing the plan for the arrival of the king from Negeri Seberang, Putri Aji then prepared a
welcoming party. Finally, the King arrived in the kingdom of Putri Aji. They were warmly
welcomed. Lots of food and drink served. Dances as a complement were also served at the
welcoming party for the King of the Seberang Country.
However, the king was very ill-mannered. He spilled his food when eating, ate his food using
his left-hand. This behaviour did not make Putri Aji happy.
"You filthy, ill-mannered king," said Putri Aji in her heart feeling disgusted seeing the dirty
behaviour of the king.
The King finally proposed Putri Aji,

"O beautiful princess, will you be my consort?"

Putri Aji firmly replied, "I don't want to be the empress of a king who is dirty and has bad
manners."

Putri Aji's answer made the King angry. His anger was unstoppable. He prepared his troops
to attack the kingdom of Putri Aji. Thousands of troops across the country came to the
kingdom of Putri Aji. War broke out and many soldiers from both sides died. But, the King
had more troops to attack Putri Aji.

Seeing many of her troops died, Putri Aji felt anxious.

"It's bad, if this continues my soldiers will be exhausted and I will definitely lose. What
should I do?" she asked himself.
Putri Aji started looking for a way to defeat the King of the Seberang Country. She used her
magic to defeat opponents. She took her daun sirih from the container, then chewed it while
chanting a mantra. After that, the daun sirih was sprayed in all directions by Putri Aji and
turned into a vicious centipede. The number of centipedes was very large, even reaching
millions.

The centipedes became a line of soldiers who were ready to attack the soldiers of the King of
the Overseas Country.
“Go! My unstoppable centipede!” Putri Aji shouted commanding her army of centipede.
Putri Aji soldiers were greatly helped by the presence of these centipedes. Seeing the group
of centipedes vicious and ready to attack, the soldiers of the King of the Negeri Seberang ran
wildly and left the area.

The attacks of the centipedes did not stop there. The centipedes chased all the way to the sea
where the soldiers of Negeri Seberang escaped in their ships. The attack of the centipedes
made their large ships sank into the sea. Over time, the place where the ships of the King of
the Negeri Seberang sank and turned into a very wide field overgrown with bushes and
blended with the sea. The place was later named Centipede Lake or Danau Lipan.
