The document discusses the pressure young people face from parents' high expectations and how it can negatively impact their mental health and academic performance. It notes that verbal abuse, forcing children into unwanted professions, and refusing to sympathize with failure to meet expectations can lead children to feel trapped by emotions they cannot handle and in some cases cause suicide. It suggests parents should focus on knowledge gained rather than just grades and realize grades mean little after high school.

The more you know the more valuable you are in your career. You can make better discussions with more knowledge. You study to learn, and it is important to study your whole life. The academic performance of a student plays a crucial role in deciding the next stage of their education, which in turn shapes their career.
However, Many young people are depressed, tired, and in
physical pain, when they are in school. This is due to a fear of not being able to live up to their parents requirements. The increasing pressure of expectations on young people in school now seems to have consequences for their health. The school can be dangerous because not every kid can handle their parent’s requirements. Today, many parents have high expectations to their children. Every verbal abuse a parent can say to a child can affect his/her performance, especially when they say they need to return home with great or acceptable grades. That is why many students choose to cheat because of the mental exhaustion they get from too much pressure. Each and every child has its own capability and works according to his/her potential. But forcing the child to go beyond the potential can turn out to be dangerous. In India, many families force their child to go for a particular profession which they feel is suitable for their child. The child is not questioned about his/her desire for a profession which in turn leads to poor academic performance in that particular field. In an Indian newspaper, all the psychologists discussed and they all agreed that, when children fail to meet their parent’s expectations all they need is some solace but their parents refuse to sympathize with them, and it is here they feel trapped by emotions that they can’t handle. That is why many young people in India choose to commit suicide. Some students shift their focus to maintaining A's rather than learning something important in the class. Parents should realize that students may get away with this in high school, but once they enter the real world, their grades mean nothing and knowledge will take them far in life.
