for the lesson
C. Presenting Situation :
examples/Instances of
the new lesson In a math contest, the contestants were given three seconds to give
the value of N in the number sentence 3/8 x N = 1 .After 3 seconds, all
the contestants were able to get the correct answer.

D. Discussing new Do you wonder how the contestants found the answer so fast?
concepts and
practicing new skills # Let us journey together how will it be easier to us to get the
1 reciprocal of a given fraction.

How do we get the reciprocal of a fraction?

To get the reciprocal of a fraction, just flip it upside down or get the
inverse of the fraction. The reciprocal of a fraction is also called its
multiplicative inverse.

E. Discussing new How do we find the reciprocal of a mixed fraction? Let’s find out!
concepts and
practicing new skills # To get the reciprocal of a mixed fraction, the following are the steps:
2
1.) convert the given mixed fraction into an improper fraction;

2.) flip the numerator and denominator.

Examples:

1.) Find the reciprocal of 3 1/4

What will happen if we multiply a fraction or a number by its

reciprocal?

I. Evaluating learning Choose and write the letter of the correct answer.

1. What is the product of 8 and 1/8?

A. 8/2 B. 2/8 C. 9/2 D. 2/9

2. If 4/9 is multiplied to a number, the product is 1. What is the

number?

A. 2/3 B. 1 C. 9/4 D. 2 1/9

Fill in the blank with a number which will make the statement true.

J. Additional activities for Directions: Do as told. Write your answers in your activity
application or notebook.
remediation
1) Find the sum of 1/8 and 3/8 , then give its reciprocal.

2) Find the difference between 7/9 and 2/9 , then give its
multiplicative inverse.

3) Find the product of 1/4 and 3/4 , then give its multiplicative
inverse.
