4. Write 100-200 words below about how Aslan helps us to understand what God is really
like.
Aslan helps us to understand what God is like as he demonstrates all the same characteristics as God. The
Bible contains all human knowledge of God told through stories which C.S. Lewis has interpreted and adapted
to create the character, Aslan. Through his actions and wisdom, the characterization of Aslan effectively
communicates the key aspects of what God is really like. For example, Aslan connects with all the characters of
Narnia and this demonstrates how he is able to provide help to everyone through their problems. At the
beginning of the novel he inspires hope through his possible return, leading the citizens of Narnia to stand up
to the White Witch, reflecting how God inspires hope among believers and encourages them to follow the
teachings of Jesus in recognition of his presence. Furthermore, Aslan is called the true ruler of Narnia which
encourages to comprehend God as the leading power of our world. In conclusion, C.S Lewis displays the
character Aslan as he displays relationship with everyone, hope and leadership in a way that greatly increases
our understanding of God.
Then one of the elders said to me, “Stop crying and look! The one who is called both the ‘Lion from the
Tribe of Judah’ and ‘King David’s Great Descendant’ has won the victory.”
(Revelation 5:5)
