DAILY LESSON LOG

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Demonstrates an understanding of the concepts and underlying principles in performing measurements and calculations.

B. Performance Standard Perform accurate measurements and calculation based on the given tasks.

4. Other Learning Resources LED TV, DLP, picture, realia
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson In metric system or English system we use conversion to measure Show class an example of metal
object.
Group 1 will measure the object by using metric system while Group 2 will convert it to English system

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Picture Analysis

“Angle me not”

Ask the students how to get an angle of a slice pizza.

C. Presenting Examples/instances of new lesson The ratio of two numbers is a comparison of two quantities while proportion is the quality of two ratios.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills Solve the following:
Find the measurement of each angle of a triangle, if the ratio of the angles of a triangle is 1 : 2 : 3 and the sum of the is
180 degrees.
Pedro has a box containing 5 ballpens,3 erasers, 2 pencils and 1 stapler. What is the
ratio of pencils to erasers?
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
Computation using different procedure in finding ratio & proportion Examples:
I. Find the measurement of each angle of a triangle, if the ratio of the angles of a triangle is 1 : 2 : 3 and the sum of the is
180 degrees.
Solution:
Let X = measurement of the first angle 2X = measurement of the
second angle 3X = measurement of the third angle
X + 2X + 3X = 180 degrees – sum of the 3 angles of a triangle 6X = 180 degrees - sum of X‟s
X = 30 degrees - measurement of the first angle
2X = 2 (30) = 60 degrees – measurement of the second angle 3X = 3 (30) = 90 degrees –
measurement of the third angle
Proportion is an equation with a ratio on each side. It is a statement that two ratios are equal . Example: 3/8 = 6/16
When one of the four numbers in a proportion is unknown, cross product maybe used to
find the unknown number. Question marks or letter x and n are frequently used in place of the un-known number.
Example:
Solve for n: ½ = n/4 Using cross product, we multiply 2 x n
= 4, so 2 x n = 4
= 2n =4 (4 ÷ 2 = 2)
n=2

F. Developing Mastery How will you get and express the angle of a triangle? How about the proportion of each
side?

G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills In welding services, how will you apply the ratio and proportion?
in daily living
H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the Ask the students to find the unknown term of proportion given below: 1. 5:10 = 6:x 3. 6:3 =
lesson 12:x 5. 3:9 = 4:4
2. 4:x = 2/8 4. 2/3 = x:6
I. Evaluating Learning Paper and pencil Test
Direction: Compute the following:
1. ½ kilo of welding rod can be used for 10 pcs of square bar for fabrication, what is the ratio of these materials? (5:10)
2. How many kilos of welding rod is required in joining 100 joints of metal? (2.5 kilos)

J. Additional activities for applications or remediation Practical test

In 1 liter of QDE paint, how many bottle/s of thinner is needed for painting metal works?
V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
