Is there a difference between pronouns in

regard to the number of hours spent

playing video games?

Null Hypothesis: There is no difference between pronouns and the

number of hours spent playing video games.

Alternative Hypothesis: There is a difference between pronouns and

the number of hours spent playing video games.

played 0-1 hours
39 of whom were female identifying
24 of whom were male identifying
3 of whom were they/ them identifying

20.75% of 106 people who took the survey only

played 1-2 hours
6 of whom were female identifying
14 of whom were male identifying

Final Calculations
Background
I was curious if there was a difference between the
two because I’m a huge gamer but not all of my
friends are. And I wanted to see if there was a
difference based on pronouns. So I wanted to conduct
an experiment to see if there was a difference.

Key Information to remember

Question: Is there a difference between pronouns and
the number of hours spent playing video games?
Degree of Freedom: 8
Critical Value: 15.507
There is enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis.
The Chi-Squared is greater than the critical value.

Conclusion
The amount of columns minus 1 times the amount of rows minus 1 is
8. That is our degree of freedom is 8. In order to reject the null
hypothesis, we need the critical value to be less than the chi-
squared of 16.979. To our luck, the critical value is 15.507. This
means that there is enough evidence to reject the null hypnosis. To
conclude, there is a difference between
pronouns and the number of hours spent playing video games.
