Tiny Peony

Some of my fondest Spring time memories involve peonies. My great grandmother had a
large peony bush. She would take toothpicks and carefully poke them through the flowers
to create ‘arms and legs’. With some imagination, a peony becomes a dancer twirling in a
flowing dress or a queen wearing a ruffled bustle.

These peonies are much tinier than the ones in my great grandmother’s garden. I decided
to include the signature ruffly layers of the peony and forego the large size. I plan to use
these in a flower crown so the tinier the better!

The free pattern below includes instructions for making a smaller and larger flower as well
as a flower bud and a leaf.
