Research on Botanical Garden


INTRODUCTION

Architecture is being influenced by many subjects of natural and social sciences. These
subjects of nature include gardens, one of the specialized branches in landscape architecture
that is concerned with private space and private goods. Botany s branch of biology that deals
with the study of plants, including their structure, properties, and biochemical processes, has a
great connection with garden design, they are designed mostly for the conservation of plants
called botanical garden. Botanical gardens are vital locations that highlight plant diversity and
help researchers to discover innovative strategies to maintain and expand biodiversity in a world
when natural resources and wildlife are being depleted at an unprecedented rate.

The purpose of this study is to define the meaning of a botanical garden, to know the
characteristics, the purpose, relation to architecture, its importance and contribution in this
subject. This paper tends to help the researchers, the students that are studying architecture,
and other people related in architectural field, to obtain knowledge and to have a clearer
understanding relating to botanical gardens and architecture.
