LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH

10 PHYSICAL EDUCATION
FOURTH GRADING

I. Objectives:
At the end of the session, the learners will be able to:
1. Appreciate the value of dancing in the improvement and maintenance of their
health and fitness
2. Create movements in coming up with their own cheerdance routines through
improvisations
3. Describe the nature, movements and health benefits of cheer dancing

II. Learning task


Subject Matter: Other Dance Forms (Cheerdance)
Reference: PE and Health LM, pp. 158-161
Materials: Laptop, TV as projector, warm-up music, cheerdance dance type
music, music player and speaker

III. Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities
 Greetings
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Motivation
“ Use your body, one two, one two”
The teacher will project a word and the learners will spell it through their
body movements. The learner will jog in place as they wait for the next word to be presented by the
teacher.
B. Developmental Activities
Based on the activity stated above, the teacher will ask the following
questions?
1. Who among you here get tired easily as we do the activity?
2. What do you think is the reason why you feel that way?
C. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
The teacher will group the class into four. A cheerdance music will be
played. Together with the group, they will think steps, preferably
cheerdance steps, and execute them in accordance with the beat given. The
group will create a combination of about four 8’s in five-minute duration.
Afterwards, the group will present their output.

2. Analysis
The teacher will tell the group to assemble in column.
 What were the dance presentations you performed about?
 How could you perform better?
 Are there other combinations which you can perform to add
dynamics to your cheerdance routine?
 How can a student like you benefit from performing cheerdances?

3. Abstraction
On pages 159,186 and 187 of your text, study and perform the following
readings and illustrations for the improvement of your cheerdance routines
4. Application
Group activity. The group will go back to their first activity, to create a two
minute cheerdance routine. Each group will be given 10 minutes to finish
their mission. Afterwards, presentation of output will follow.
Note: teacher will ensure safety in the conduct of the activity, such as
practice area, clothing and skills
5. Assessment
Presentation shall be rated based on the following criteria:
 Completeness (considering the three elements of cheerdance) 50%
 Mastery and synchrony, difficulty and teamwork 50%

IV. Agreement
In a ½ sheet of paper, make a one paragraph essay about your cheerdance
experience.

FOURTH GRADING

I. Objectives:
1. Understand the concept of theater arts
2. Identify roles and function in a stage production
3. Exhibit example of play

II. Learning task


Subject Matter: Performance Arts- Theater Arts
Reference: Horizon, pp. 304-315
Materials: Pictures, TV as Projector, powerpoint presentation, laptop, audio
equipment
Strategy: Collaborative/active learning

III. Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities
 Greetings
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Motivation
The teacher will present excerpts of theatrical play and let them identify the
elements needed in a play
B. Developmental Activities
From the play presented, let the student define the meaning of theater arts
through the elements they have identified.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
The teacher will post the different functions of behind the scene members.
Each group will identify what role does it play by choosing its answer from
the given strips and posting it on the board. The group who got more correct
answers will be declared as winner.
2. Analysis
From the definition given, learners will analyze the appropriate/ correct role
that corresponds it.
3. Abstraction
Teacher will ask the following questions:
 What is theater arts?
 Can we consider theatrical play as art? What element do you see that is
consider as an art?
 What are the different roles in a stage production?
 How important does their role portray?
4. Application
Group Activity
The class will be divided into four groups. Each group will present an
example of play from the situation given. Each group shall rate the performance
of the group excluding the performing group by raising their number score as 7
the lowest point and 10 as the highest. Each group score shall be accumulated
to declare the best group performer.
5. Assessment
In a ½ sheet of paper, answer the following questions;
1. If you will become part of a theatrical play, what role would you like
to become? Why?
2. How theatrical play helps individual on its personality development?

IV. Agreement
Activity Notebook

1. Write an essay on “As a student, how can you help in promoting the theatrical
play that will help to regain its popularity just like before?”
2. Determine the theater and performing groups in the Philippines
