LESSON PLAN in P.E 7


October 16, 2019

I. OBJECTIVE(S) : The learner:

 Performs appropriate first-aid for sports-related injuries


(e.g.cramps, sprain, heat exhaustion) PE7PF-IId-h-30

KBI : Awareness of the proper first-aid or immediate response to an injured person


(Analysis)

INDICATORS:

INDICATOR 1: The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group choose one from the
following differentiated activities.
 Given 2 minutes time to play the charades and let his/her groupmates
guess the name of the SPORTS discussed last meeting.
 Given 2 minutes time to play the charades and let his/her groupmates

 Given 2 minutes time the group will perform a warm-up exercise (Zumba
type)
 Given 2 minutes time the group will create atleast 2 stanza poem about
sports. (Review)
INDICATOR 2: The teacher will draw a crossword puzzle on both sides of the chalk board.
In 3 minutes, let the students fill the crossword puzzle with the guide clues
or hints provided by the teacher. Activity

parallel to the objective, activities, analysis, abstraction, application and

III. PROCEDURE

A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES
a. Prayer
 The teacher calls a student to lead the prayer.
 Let the students pick up the pieces of papers and arrange their chairs
before they take a seat.
 Let the students settle down and start checking the attendance.
b. Attendance checking
 The teacher asks the students to raise their hands when their name is
called.
c. Review
The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group choose one from the
following differentiated activities:
 Given 2 minutes time to play the charades and let his/her groupmates
guess the name of the SPORTS discussed last meeting.
 Given 2 minutes time the group will perform a warm-up exercise (Zumba

B. DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON

1. ACTIVITY
“CROSSWORD”
 The teacher will draw a crossword puzzle on both sides of the chalk board.
 Divide the class into two (2)
 In 3 minutes, let the students fill the crossword puzzle with the guide clues
or hints provided by the teacher.
 The total hints/clues answered by the group before the time will be given as
their additional points during the quiz.

Clue or hints:
1. An act that damages or hurts. (across)
2. It can help to avoid further injury by not moving or lessening the
movement or by immobilizing the injured area (down)
3. It is a substance that is applied to an injured part to stop the swelling
and bleeding.(up)
4. It is done by putting pressure in the area with the use of bandage or

6. It is also considered as giving immediate care to an injured person.

2. ANALYSIS
Let the students answer the following questions:
1. What did you feel about the activity?
2. What is your opinion about SAFETY FIRST?
3. Does it make a difference if you have knowledge about the basic first aid to these
sports-related injuries? How?
4. When do we need to respond (as a first aider)?
5. Is it important for us to be aware of the proper immediate response to an injured
person?
3. ABSTRACTION/ GENERALIZATION
(The teacher in this portion would discuss the most important concepts to
remember about the folk dancing and will demonstrate the basic first aid to dance
related injuries)
4. APPLICATION
Divide the class into 5 groups. Each group will perform the PRICE method of
First-aid.

GROUP1: PROTECT (How will you protect an injured player?)


GROUP2: REST (What is the purpose of letting an injured player rest?)
GROUP 3: ICE (How many minutes should we apply the ice? What is
the purpose of putting ice on an injured area?)
GROUP4: COMPRESS (Why do we need to put bandage on the injured area?)
GROUP5: ELEVATE (What is the purpose of elevating the injured are?)
