strips)
3. You will be given 5 seconds to do the writing. (Wait for the 4th
picture to display before you can write your answer.)
4. You will be given a clue using the box which represents the
number of syllable each word contains.
5. Raise your strip with answer when the allotted time ends.
6. Each correct answer of the group member will be the point of
each group.
7. The winner will be the group having the most number of
points.

Unlocking of difficulty
*barefoot * fluid * rub
* oppose * resistance
* opposite * lubricants
Instruction:
From the words in Column A match its meaning on column B.
Choose only the letter of your choice.

Motivation:
Picture Analysis:

Ask: What have you seen in the picture? Did you experience these
activities? What about the second picture? The third…..
Say: Every day we are doing different activities. Do you know that
Friction plays a vital role in our everyday life? In whatever we do,
wherever we go there is friction. So today we will answer different
questions regarding Friction.
(The teacher will present the learning competency.)

B. EXPLORE Do Group Activity 1. Roll, Push, Slide and Stop

Group A - Roll and Stop
Group B - Roll and Stop
Group C- Slide and Stop
Group D – Slide and Stop

A. Materials:

B. Mechanics:
1. You will be group into 4.
2. Each group will prepare tagline by choosing favorite word from
previous lessons.
3. Each group will do what is instructed on your activity cards.
4. You will be given 3 minutes to do the task.
(This includes writing on the activity sheet)
5. You have to wait for the teacher to say the word “NOW” to start
your task”.
6. When finished, recite your tag line to be acknowledged.
7. Post your Activity sheets at the board.
8. Be ready to report your findings after.

Set standards in doing group activity

Should follow safety reminders
Members should cooperate and participate
All must be attentive
Respect the idea of each member
Time conscious. Finish the activity on time
Remind to follow health protocols
Stay Safe
Always wear face mask and disinfect your hands before and after
your activity
Follow strictly safety protocols
Ensure your good health always
Present Rubrics:

-
C. EXPLAIN Reporting by Group
- Group A
- Group B
- Group C
- Group D
(Let the reporter of every group present their output.
Processing:
The teacher will process and assess by giving scores using the
rubrics.

Say: In your activity, when the ball is pushed, it will roll down the
floor and stop after a few seconds. It is the friction of the ball and the
floor that causes the stopping of the ball.
But how does friction occur?
While the ball is rolling on the floor, the surface of the ball rub against
the surface of the floor.
Friction always acts opposite to the direction of the objects motion ( as
represented by arrow).
The teacher will show video clip to deepen understanding about
Friction. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2gQs1mcZHA)
Before viewing:
⮚ Set standards in watching video
a. Listen carefully and understand the content of the
video
b. Take down note important information
⮚ Guide questions to be answered after
1. What causes the moving ball to stop?
2. Why does the bottle did not slip through from the hand?
3. How does friction occurs in the moving ball? In a hand
holding a bottle?
D. ELABORATE Do Individual Activity:
Using the Spinning Wheel, spin and let the learner with the
corresponding code answer the questions correctly.

Do Group Activity: Differentiated Activity

Group A- True or False
Group B- Completion
Group C- Inferring
Group D- Drawing

A. Mechanics
1. Each group will be given differentiated activity to perform.
2. Each group will be given 2 minutes to finished the tasks.
3. Tagline of your group will be recited as soon as you finished
the tasks to record the no. of minutes you consumed.
4. As soon as you are finished, post your task on the board.
5. Be ready to present your output by the assigned reporter of
your group.
Say: Now, you know already know what Friction is and how it occurs,
study the following pictures below and answers questions that follow:

C.

3. If you were that player in the picture, is it good to

wear shoes? What kind of shoes would you be wearing?
Why?

Generalize by asking:
What is Friction?
How does friction occur.
Valuing:
Who among you here love cleanliness? Do you want to step in a smooth
tile? Why? What should you wear to avoid slipping or sliding in a smooth floor?

E. EVALUATE Read and understand each statement/question. Write the letter of the
correct answer in a space provided before each number.
1. What is friction?
A. Force opposes motions
B. Amount of force exerted due to gravity

B. Friction is an energy that moves the object.
C. Friction is a force that acts opposite to the direction of an
object’s motion.
D. Friction does not exist between the surface of two objects
rubbing each other.

D. The brake makes the wheel slow down and then stop.

Additional activities for application or (In a piece of short bond paper,)

Remediation Draw or cut out five (5) pictures showing different activities involving
friction.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION

evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for remediation.
