Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in English II

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

 identify action words in sentences;


 act out and use action words ; and
 tell the importance of being careful in whatever one does.

Materials: video clips, laptop, pocket charts, pictures, magic box, power point presentation

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities

1. Prayer

3. Checking of attendance
4. Drill
Say: Class, I have here some words. I will read first and then repeat after me.

5. Review
Say: Let us have a short glimpse of what we have discussed last time.
Ask : What is our past lesson?
Ask : What is a noun?
Say: That’s right! Very good!

6. Motivation
 Grouping them into three.
 Giving them a warm up.
 Showing video clips.

B. Developmental Activities

1. Presentation
Say: Class, today we’re going to watch a video clips. Let us follow carefully because after the
video presentation we will be having our group activities.
(Viewing of video clip about action words.)

Ask: What did you notice about the video clips?


What actions did we do?

2. Group Activity
Utilization of Multiple Intelligences.

Say: Based on the video:

Group A will draw an action word.


Group B will write sentences with action words.
Group C will show the different action words through the movements of their body.

(The teacher will ask the action words used by the group in its presentation.)

3. Discussion
Ask: Again what is the video all about?
Say: The video we watched is all about different action words which action words, tells what
someone or something is doing. This is what we called verb.
(The teacher will show different pictures.)
Ask: Who can tell which picture show an action?
(The teacher will write sentence.)
Ask: Who can underline the action word in a sentence?

4. Generalization
Ask: Is it easy to identify action words in sentences?
How do you identify action words?

5. Infusion of Value
Watch the Tom and Jerry cartoon.
Afterwards, ask them: Should you admire Tom?
How about on Jerry should you admire him.
6. Guided Practice
Infer the action words shown in the picture. Put a smiley face in the sentence that
tells something about the picture.

7. Application
Game: Pinoy Henyo Game
Mechanics:
1. They will be group into 3 groups.
2. Each group will choose 1 representative that will pick and act the given action word.
3. The remaining members of the group will guess what is being act by their groupmates.
4. They will be given only 40 seconds.
5. Each correct answer will be counted.

8. Enrichment Activity
I have here a magic box. Get the picturesfrom the magic box and put them in proper column.
