A. Preliminary Activities

- Who can give examples of nouns?
B. Motivation

 The teacher will present a couple of pictures to the class. The teacher will ask some
questions regarding the pictures shown by the teacher.

The Jose plays football. Ana cooks for the family.

 QUESTIONS:
1. What is the boy doing? How about the girl?
2. What do we call these words? (plays, cooks)
C. Presentation
Skill: Recognizes common action words in a sentence.
Problem: What are action words?
Concept: Action words, or verbs, simply express an action. The action is
something the subject of the sentence.

D. Activity

 The teacher will group the students into two groups.


 Each group will be given printed copy of the group activity.
E. Analysis

 The teacher will present sentence to the learners and the learners
themselves will try to recognize the verb in each sentence.

F. Abstraction

 The teacher will generalize or give the gist of the lesson.

Let us all remember that action words are also referred to as verbs.
Action words or verbs are words that express actions. These action words
or verbs can be found in sentence. Action words or verbs are the actions
done by the subject of the sentence (noun).
G. Application
Direction: Encircle the verb in each sentence.
