B. Performance Standards

The learner transfers learning by explaining the need to be cooperative and responsible
in today’s global village.

Use verbs when giving information and making explanations. (EN7G-IV-b-5)

D. Specific Objectives

At the end of the discussion the student should be able to:

a. identify verbs according to its type.


b. construct sentences using verbs according to its type.

E. Discussion

Verb has different types and today


we are going to discuss three of these.

First, we have the ACTION verb


which is use to express an action.

Second, is the LINKING verb


which connects the subject with a word that
gives information about the subject, such as a
condition or relations? They do not show any
action; they simply link the subject with the

Third we have the HELPING verb


which give perfect tense of a verb and usually
comes before the main verb in a sentence.
Example:
You could take a selfie using my
phone.
They will do the chores later.
