It was summer time. Dino was going to fly his kite. His
father saw him,
Father said:

Very Good! - pillow, happy, polite, table, hotdog

Give some example of words that has two-

That’s right!

C. Abstraction
Two-syllable words are words that when
spoken, have two definite groups of sounds.
Example:
Water (wa and ter)

Two-syllable word with short vowel sound

refers to a word divided into two syllables and
one or both syllable has a vowel sound.

To read the long words easily, use

syllabication. Syllabication is to divide the
words into small parts called syllables.
Examples:
Basket (bas and ket)
Tennis (ten and nis)

How to divide syllable?

1. Look at the word. How many vowels do
you see?
- Ribbon (rib & bon)
2. Say the word. Clap your hands for every
sounds you hear. (the teacher
demonstrate)
3. Write the chunks. Think of the beginning
sound and ending sound.
- rib│bon
4. Repeat the chunks. Does it sound right?

So now, I have here a four (4) set of word of

two syllable words. Now you are going to read
it so I’m going to read it first and afterwards
you’re going to read to it.
Set 1 Set 2 Set 3 Set 4
rabbit funny run│ning hot│ter
bubble lesson bun│ny ap│ple
follow hissing lit│tle pup│py
taller dinner piz│za hap│py
messy better yel│low kit│ten

D. Application
So now, I will group you into three groups.
Each group pick one representative to go in
front and pick your materials that you will use
during your activity.
- Let’s have this another activity, the two-
syllable words. We have here words
spider, window, apple, pencil and
happy. Now, get your manila paper
copy and answer.
