Detailed Lesson Plan 3

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the grade 3 pupils should be able to:

a. define verb;
b. identify action verb in the sentence; and
c. understand the use of verb.

1. Prayer

Good morning class! Good morning Maam!, good morning


classmate!, its nice to see you again!
You may now take your seat.
3. Checking of Attendance

I will check your attendance first. Yes maam.

maam”.

4. Setting Standard

Please pick-up the pieces of paper Yes maam.

specific name of a person.

How about the word “Boy?” It’s a common noun.

I will group you into three groups


with three members. We are going
to have a simple game.

I have here a set of words. I need


each member to arrange the word
and to form a sentence.

I will give you 5 minutes to arrange


the words and paste it on the
board.

Now that we have arranged the


words, let us read it.

What is the noun in this sentence?

Very good!

“John reads a book.”


“John”
How about the noun in this
sentence?

Excellent!

“The dog jump over the fence.”


“Dog”
How about this last sentences?

Again, noun is a name of a person,


animals, things, places and events.

Now, take a look in our sentences.

Is our noun performing something?

Yes (name of pupil!)


Very good! The noun in the
sentence are doing something.

Do you have any idea what word


do we use to describe an action?

Yes (name of pupil)

Good job!, verb Is a word that


shows action.
A verb is an action word.
Again, what is a verb?

Using the sentences, we are going


to identify the verb.

“Ana is dancing”

What action did Ana perform?


Ana is dancing.
Yes (name of pupil)

Okay very good! Ana is dancing.

What is the verb or word used in “Dancing”


sentence?

Yes (name of the pupil)

In the second sentence “John


reads a book.”

What does John do?


“Erick Read”
Yes (name of pupil)

Very good! Erick reads.

What is the action word or verb in “Its Read”

And now, lets look the last


sentence.

“My dog jumps over the fence.”

What is the verb in the sentence?
Yes very good!

want you to identify noun and
the verb in sentences.

I will group you into three and each


will be perform similar task.

Each group will create a (creates three groups)


presentation that shows your
understanding of our lessons. You (pupils will proceed on the activity.)
may act or drama that showing
action. I will give you 15 minutes to
finish the activity. You may start
now!
