Determining Oil interceptor Flow Rate

Expected flow rate discahrged into the Generator room Oil interceptor is as following

The expected general cleaning water flow rate for the room is equivalent to a service hose bib flow rate, could be used during maintenance.

1)Calculate Service Hose flow rate

As per IPC 2018, Water fixture load values for fixtures

Service Hose bib maximum WSFU value is 3 WSFU (Taken from Combined flow of a Service Sink as highlighted in attachement)

Equivalent Flowrate in GPM 6.5 gpm

Proposed intercepor Outlet size is 2" (50mm as per attached data sheet) which can discharge 20 gpm flow rate, hence

the interceptor size is acceptable.

Poposed Oil intercptor has a oil/sludge collection capacity of 5 kg as per manufacturer data sheet.
